Error adding / connecting new DDC to existing Site. "Failed to update database 'DBName' on server 'DDCHostName'".

1. Delete the machine account login of the DDC under Security > Logins in the SQL server instance and under Security > Logins in the Citrix Site DB.
   • If after following the above steps, you receive error: "Failed to add Citrix AD Identity Service on controller [X-X-X-XX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXXX-XXXXXXXXX-XXXXXX]"), ​​​follow steps outlined in CTX232985.

Problem Cause

The new DDC install was made on the same VM / machine with same Windows installation where the previously deleted DDC was installed / running. Due to this, the DDC machine account was already under Security > Logins in the SQL server instance and under Security > Logins in the Citrix Site DB causing a conflict when adding the new DDC to the site process was trying to add the corresponding login account of the DDC to the DB which was the same as the old.
