After Enabling Generic USB redirection for a specific Audio device, we are unable to use Optimized /HDX Audio redirection in ICA Session
Resolution
In case we need to use both GUSB and HDX Audio redirection, we need to setup separate delivery groups for both the requirements and add users to specific delivery groups.
Additional Information:
Citrix has an audio virtual channel that is often referred to as HDX Audio. HDX audio is speaker and microphone data.
HDX Audio does not require Generic USB (GUSB) redirection. If an end-user is connected with a headset to the USB port the audio is still redirected using HDX audio.
HDX Audio is the preferred virtual channel for audio (speaker and microphone). If HDX audio is not working then the focus of the investigation should be directed to troubleshooting HDX audio not trying to use GUSB audio as a work-around.
Problem Cause
Having Generic USB Redirection prevents other audio devices not configured for GUSB Audio to not appear in ICA session.
