Facing issues while installing Symantec Endpoint Protection client 14.x while installing on App Layer. When trying to install 14.2.5569 version of SEP , it’s getting crashed. and post a reboot of the packaging machine, unable to search in icons or search box .
Getting an error that says 'SymCorpUIRes.dll could not be found' and some times with failed verify signature.

As of App Layering 2005 (20.5), a script has been included with the OS Machine Tools to automate copying c:\windows\system32\drivers\symefasi\data into the boot volume.


The new package will need to be extracted on the OS layer first. Once done, create the Symantec layer based on the new OS layer and run through the installation.

When prompted to reboot, please run the following from an administrator command prompt:

C:\Windows\Setup\scripts\AddSymantecFilesNeededForBoot.cmd

Then reboot the packaging machine and verify Endpoint Protection is working.
