Description

We see all the VPX instances on ADM before the upgrade. After SDX is upgraded from 11.0 to 11.1 or a higher version, all the VPX's of the SDX disappear from Citrix ADM.
All the config related to those VPX's are lost too. This includes licensed vServers and User Group entities bound to that VPX on ADM.

Resolution

This behavior is expected in SDX versions greater than 11.1.

Workaround:
  1. Log on to the SDX appliance by using your 'nsroot' credentials
  2. From the SDX GUI-
Go to System > User Administration > Group
  3. Select the group
  4. Click Edit
  5. Under Instances, move the Available instances to Configured instances
  6. Click OK to save changes
  7. Log out from the SDX appliance
  8. Log on back as an external user

Problem Cause

The System user configured on ADM to access SDX is an external user which is part of a user group on SDX.

In 11.0, when logged in as external user, user could view all the instances hosted on SDX even though external group did not contain any instances in configured list.
After upgrade, due to system access(Role) changes introduced in 11.1 and above builds, for external groups if there wasn’t any configured list, SVM shall not display instances.

Issue/Introduction

After SDX upgrade, we lose all the VPX's of the SDX on ADM. But the SDX instance continues to appear on the ADM.
