Apple has deprecated its legacy VPN framework starting iOS 12. The alternative for customers is to switch to the new App “Citrix SSO”, the next gen VPN client from Citrix. The new App is built from the ground up using the Apple’s modern Network Extension framework. Citrix SSO is available on both iOS and MacOS platforms. It also supports new features such as Password Tokens and Push Notifications for multi factor authentication. Important: Configuring MDM managed VPN profiles in the new Citrix SSO differs from the legacy Citrix VPN. VPN profiles configured for Citrix VPN will not work with Citrix SSO as they are two separate Apps. Please refer to the MDM VPN profiles in the Citrix SSO user guide.
