Description

Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop Virtual Delivery Agents fail to register with a Windows Server 2012 R2 Delivery Controller.  In the Event Viewer, the following message is displayed: 

"Registration request for worker [SID] was rejected due to an unknown error."

Additionally, the following error is seen on the Delivery Controller in CDF Control:

" Exception System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'CredentialSecurity.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
   at Citrix.Cds.Broker.CredentialSecurity.NativeMethods.CredSec_SelectVersion(UInt32 dwMaxVersion)
   at Citrix.Cds.Broker.Registrar.RegisterInternal(RegisterRequest request)"

Resolution

Install Microsoft Hotfix KB3118401 on the Delivery Controller.

Problem Cause

An important update for Universal C Runtime in Windows is missing.
