The following are some points that will help you understanding NetScaler SD-WAN route defaults:

  • The default route cost applied to all user-created routes is 5 unless explicitly set otherwise.
  • All routes created by the user have the default route cost unless the user explicitly sets an alternate cost.
  • If Internet service exists, a route for 0.0.0.0/0 for internet service is created with the user's default route cost.
  • A route for 0.0.0.0/0 for passthrough service is always created with cost 16, regardless of whether the user creates a 0.0.0.0/0 route for passthrough service with an alternate cost.
