Description
When running the XenDesktop Setup Wizard (XDSW) you might receive the following error when selecting the PVS Accelerator Configuration.
The error might also be shown when attempting to change the Accelerator Status of a Target Device or Enabling/Disabling the Accelerator setting on a Host Entry through the PVS Console.
Attempting to add Targets to an existing Device Collection using the XDSW, and selecting an affected Host Entry with this issue, can also present this error.
Resolution
Once there is a mismatch of the UUID between the PVS Server(s) and XenServer, the currently supported solution is to re-create the Target Devices along with the Host Entry.
The following steps can be used to accomplish this:
- Delete all the Target Devices associated with the Host Entry from both XenServer and PVS
- Delete all VMs on the Hypervisor side
- From the PVS Console select all the Targets, right click on them and select "Active Directory" and then select "Delete Machine Account"
- Again from the PVS Console select all the Targets and delete them
- Also delete all the Desktops from Citrix Studio on the XenDesktop side
Note: it is not required to delete the Catalog. The Catalog can be reused.
- Delete the Host Entry from PVS
- On the PVS Console select the Hosts node on the left pane
- On the right pane select the Host Entry that corresponds to the Hypervisor and delete it
- Delete and re-create the PVS Proxy Configuration on XenCenter
- Finally, run the XenDesktop Setup Wizard to re-create all the Targets and select the new PVS Proxy Configuration when prompted during the Wizard
Problem Cause
This issue can happen when there is a mismatch between the PVS Proxy Site UUID, created on the XenServer side, and the UUID saved in the PVS Database.
A common cause for this issue is when the PVS Proxy Configuration is deleted and re-created on the XenServer side.
This will effectively cause PVS to have an incorrect UUID, because the UUID is re-created on XenServer to get a new Unique value.
