Description

After upgrading Windows 2016 Target devices from Provisioning Services 7.15 to 7.15.1 or 7.16, the device could be stuck at Windows logo or black screen at boot time.

Resolution

Install a target device package that includes LC9104. This fix is part of Provisioning Services 7.17. As per Citrix Documentation - Provisioning Services 7.15 the fix is included in PVS LTSR CU2 also.

Problem Cause

If packets are randomly received by the target’s IO streaming socket during the reconnection process, the target might terminate closing the socket because the packets can no longer be processed and the target will stop sending traffic to the PVS server after reading the vDisk.
