Description

There is a delay in power action from DDC to Hypervisor (Nutanix AOS 5.1.3) which results in an inconsistency of VDA power status between XenDesktop and Nutanix. This power action delay has led to user connection failure from thin client when VDAs need boot up after clicking desktop icons.

We initiate a power up action for a specific VDA at 8:47:09 am.
Later "Get-BrokerHostingPowerAction -HostedMachineName shows the power action state as "pending".
At the same time, studio shows VDA status is still "OFF" and "Unregistered".
It will take several minutes to complete the power action from DDC to Nutanix AHV.

Resolution

Nutanix support states that this is an issue which should has been fixed in Obelix ( AOS 5.5 ).
A workaround would be modifying the user from "admin or administrator" in connection properties of existing Nutanix hosting connection to any other user names that have the same required AHV privileges.

Problem Cause

As per Nutanix support, it's a known issue in AOS 5.1 which has caused a delay in power action from XenDesktop DDC and would be fixed in Obelix ( AOS 5.5 ).
