Instructions

Complete the following steps to replace defective SSD/HDD of a NetScaler SD-WAN 4000 or 5000 appliance:

  1. Acquire the new SSD/HDD to replace the bad one.

  2. Power off the appliance.

  3. Replace the bad SSD/HDD by using the disk mapping guide mentioned in the additional resources section.

  4. Power on the appliance.

  5. Log on to dom0 (XenServer) and run the following command:
    srcfg.sh --fru --rebuild

  6. No errors should be seen in Step 5. Otherwise, you may have replaced wrong disks. You can also check disk status by running disk_status.sh which should report errors, if any.

  7. You will have to reset the appliance to factory default again through SVM GUI if errors are seen during factory reset.  Or you can get the appliance back to working condition by rebooting the appliance (assuming no factory reset was done after noticing the disk error).
