How To Change The Default Password of nsroot User of a NetScaler SD-WAN WANOP Edition Appliance

Description

The objective of this article is to provide the correct procedure to change the default password of nsroot user of a NetScaler SD-WAN WANOP Edition Appliance.
 
SVM and XS instance can be accessed via CLI and customers can potentially change the password via the CLI. In this case the SVM password can become corrupt displaying the error: "The WAN Acceleration process is still initializing"
 


Instructions

The following steps depicts the steps needed:
 
1. Access the GUI of the SD-WAN WANOP Edition appliance
 
2. Browse under Configuration > Appliance Settings > User Administration > Users
 
3. Edit the user name nsroot

4. Enter the new password and click OK

 5. Verify you can ssh/putty to SVM’s ip address to see if the new nsroot password works with the SVM.
