Description
A Cloud Connector will enter maintenance mode for a number of reasons including software updates. Only one connector will be put into maintenance mode at a time. This ensures that there are other connectors available to handle service requests.
In some cases, the Cloud Connector may fail to update and may be unable to exit maintenance mode. Due to this, other Cloud Connectors will be unable to perform regular maintenance and update when necessary. This will eventually lead to the connectors getting into an outdated state. Connectors marked as outdated will no longer be able handle service requests, ultimately resulting in service outages.
If the Cloud Connector goes into maintenance mode but then fails to update, the Resource Location and individual connector machine will be marked with an error and a notification will be sent to the Administrator.

Possible causes of this include:
- Conflicting software has been installed on the Cloud Connector machine, preventing proper update.
- Unexpected error has occurred during maintenance.

Important Notes:
- Ensure you have a pair of operational Cloud Connectors in a Resource Location prior to performing this step.
- To prevent outages, you should never uninstall a Cloud Connector if there are only 2 Cloud Connectors in its Resource Location. Instead, you should first create a new Cloud Connector for that Resource Location.
- Remove the affected connector from the Resource Location in Citrix Cloud
- Browse to the Connectors page for the affected Resource Location
- Click on the affected Cloud Connector
- Click Delete
- Uninstall the Cloud Connector components from the machine
- Browse to Control Panel > Uninstall a Program
- Select the Citrix Cloud Connector application
- Select Uninstall
- Install the latest Cloud Connector components on the existing machine
- Logon to Citrix Cloud
- Browse to the Resource Location page
- Add a Cloud Connector
- Run the Cloud Connector installer on the machine
