Instructions

Update a vDisk – Versioning Method

  1. In the Provisioning Services Console, right-click a Standard Mode vDisk, and click Versions.
  2. In the vDisk Versions window, click New

    Ensure that the Access is set to Maintenance. Click Done. You will see a vdiskname.avhd file where the vDisk is stored

  3. Go to the properties of a Test Target Device, and change the Type to Maintenance. Make sure this Target Device is in maintenance mode in Citrix Studio if it's a part of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop
  4. Boot the Test Target Device
  5. Login to theTest Target Device and the Virtual Disk Status icon in the system tray will indicate that the vDisk Mode is now Read/Write.
     
  6. vDiks is booted in R/W mode and you can make any desired changes
  7. Power off the target device so the vDisk is no longer being used.
  8. Go back to the Versions window for the vDisk an highlight the version you just updated, and click Promote.
Note: Best practice is to promote it to Test first and then production
