This article describes how to load balance the Desktop Delivery Controller via NetScaler with Connection Leasing.
NOTE: The load balanced address (VIP) for Delivery Controllers is only to be used for your store configuration in StoreFront. For VDA registration, point directly to the DDC's and not the load balancing VIP.
1. Create a Load Balancing Server for the DDC Server :
2. Create the LB Service on TCP/80 or the port being used :
3. Create the LB Monitor of CITRIX-XD-DDC type:
4. Keep the Standard Parameter as Default and enable the Validate Credentials providing the Credentials:
Please Note that Standard Parameter are only required when we want Connection Leasing in case Data Base Connectivity from DDC Server is lost.
5.Bind the monitor to the Lb Service.
6.Create a LB Virtual Server and bind the Service to the same.
In case you would like to secure the XML broker communication you can go with SSL LB server.
1)Create the service group with SSL protocol as below
2)Click on No Service Group Member to bind a member to this Service Group.
Choose Click to select
3)Select your Delivery Controller server objects, click Select
4)Now enter 443 as the port. Click Create
5)Click on No Service Group to Monitor Binding
6)Enter a name and under Type choose CITRIX-XD-DDC
7)Towards the bottom of the Standard Parameters tab check Secure
8)Click on the Special Parameters tab. Here you can validate credentials against your Delivery Controllers. This is just an added monitoring capability to ensure the Delivery Controllers are online even if the standard monitor probe is successful. Click Create
9)Now the service group will become up and we can create the LB VIP on SSL and bind the service group to the same.
10)Bind the certificate by clicking No server certificate
11)Bind the service created earlier by clicking No service group
12)Post that the LBVIP will come up as below
