Description
Currently we provide the proxy settings using the session profile to the VPN users and cannot provide the PAC file path from the same session profile because it is not supported as of now.
This feature is available with NetScaler 12.0 and later.
Note: If PAC files are pushed by GPO, then that can cause connectivity issues for users of the VPN. Consider this scenario:
- The PAC file is an Internal URL, not resolvable externally.
- When IE is opened without being connected to the VPN, the PAC file fails to be found, and thus no Proxy settings are applied, thus there are no issues.
- When IE is opened after being connected to the VPN, the PAC file is found, Proxy settings are applied, and since the user is on the VPN, there are no issues. However, as soon as they disconnect from the VPN, unless all instances of IE are exited, then IE will continue to apply the PAC Proxy settings thus preventing all internet connectivity once the VPN is disconnected. The resolution is to not apply PAC Proxy settings to users via GPO. If a proxy is required, then it must be a NetScaler configured Proxy or a Transparent Proxy.
