Description
Support for Microsoft Windows Ghost Windows support is added starting with XD 7.6 and XA 6.5 with R07.
Ghost Window is implemented so that the end-user is aware that an application has become unresponsive during intensive application function.
You might note during long operation of published application - where the application's taskbar icon may display 2 icons for one application. And if multiple published applications are sharing the same session- other applications become unresponsive. The issue only occurs when the unresponsive application window is maximized. If the application window is not maximized you will not see the issue occur. In the following image the taskbar icon should display 2 icons briefly. If both taskbar icons appear for an extended period then the published application may be affected by this issue.

Environment
Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.
Resolution
LC5774 addresses this issue and is included in 7.6.3000 and subsequent updates. A private is currently available for XA 6.5 R07 and you must open a Citrix support case for access.
You can optionally disable Ghost Windows support in XA 6.5 R07 and XA/XD 7.6.3000 by using registry key:
Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_Dlls\Multiple Monitor Hook\
Type: DWORD
Name: DefaultHooks
Value: 0x00400000
Path:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_dlls\Multiple Monitor Hook
Type: DWORD
Name: DefaultHooks
Value: 0x00400000
Setting this registry key disables Ghost Windows support in published applications. And when a published application is hung and the application's Windows title displays "(Not Responding)" the taskbar icon will not be updated and will behave as before implementation of Ghost Windows in previous XA / XD releases.
Issue/Introduction
During long operation where an application may display *Not Responding* in Windows title - the application may display multiple icons in taskbar and other published applications in the session may become unresponsive. Issue occurs when a published application is *maximized* and when application becomes unresponsive displaying Not Responding in Windows title.
