Description
After a reboot of a dedicated VDA, it takes up to 10 minutes for the audio devices to be enabled. Soon after login, the Speaker symbol in the systray has a red X and it shows that no audio devices can be found. Only after 10 minutes, the red X disappears and sound starts playing normally.
Resolution
Disabling the offending group policy resolved the issue.
Problem Cause
Default Portica permissions were modified through a custom Group Policy.
