How to Configure CEIP / Call Home for the Citrix License Server

Note: This feature is only available in the Citrix License Server 11.14.0.1 Build 19005 or later.
Citrix Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) is now enabled by default during License Server installation. Previously customers had to configure CEIP settings by editing CITRIX.opt or using PowerShell; however, now customers can reconfigure CEIP after installation using the Citrix Licensing Manager.
Call Home and CEIP
Call Home performs periodic collection of system and product configuration, performance and errors. The data identifies you as a customer. This information is transmitted to Citrix Insight Services for Citrix support and product teams to proactively resolve issues.
CEIP is a subset data of Call Home that collects anonymous configuration, performance and reliability information from your environment and automatically sends the data to Citrix. CEIP protects your privacy by the following:
- Citrix does not collect any personally identifiable data.
- A random identifier is created at install time, which tracks data transfers over time.
- Citrix does not record information such as IP addresses, server names, or domain names.
- All data is sent using HTTPS directly to Citrix servers - no third party data hosting services.
- All data is secured on Citrix servers and is accessible only by authorized individuals.
Instructions
- Launch the Citrix Licensing Manager
- Select Server Configuration (gear symbol in the upper right corner)
- Under ‘Share usage statistics with Citrix’, select the radio button to either:
- Allow Citrix Insight Services to collect information (Call Home which includes CEIP data)
- Send anonymous statistics (CEIP) or
- Do not send any data
Validate CEIP / Call Home Configuration:Open CITRIX.opt to verify the CEIP / Call Home setting after install or a change. This file is located under C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\Licensing\MyFiles. Restarting the Citrix Licensing Support Service will schedule a new upload to occur within the next 5 minutes. You can still configure CEIP / Call Home through the CITRIX.opt file; however, the preferred method is through the Citrix Licensing Manager. The following options represent how CEIP / Call Home is currently configured for the Citrix License Server:
- Diagnostic (DIAG) – Call Home is enabled
- Anonymous (ANON) – CEIP is enabled
- None – Call Home and CEIP are disabled
