Description

The Workstation Environment Management Agent and related service feature an optional debug level of logging. This additional level of logging is significantly more verbose than the standard logging levels and is disabled by default and only enabled to troubleshoot specific issues.

Under normal circumstances, the settings regarding enabling / disabling of the Debug or Verbose Level logging is controlled by policy from the Broker.

However, in the event of an issue in the environment whereby the device running the Agent is unable to connect to the Broker, it may be necessary to manually enable the Debug logging locally on the Agent device.

This article will show how to enable debug logging manually.

Instructions

On the device running the Workspace Environment Management Agent:

1. Click Start > Run and type RegEdit and press Enter.
2. Change the following registry values under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Norskale\Agent Host from 0 to 1
  • AgentDebugModeLocalOverride
  • AgentServiceDebugModeLocalOverride
3. Restart the Norskale Agent Host Service

The Norskale Agent Host Service Debug.log file will be written to %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Norskale\Norskale Agent Host
The Agent Log file will be written to the User Profile (i.e. under %UserProfile%)

NOTE:
After capturing the relevant logs showing the issue, it is recommended to disable the debug / verbose logging by reverting the registry values above from 1 back to 0
