Description

Error: Users receive a black or grey screen when connecting to a server VDA hosted by a hypervisor using an AMD processor. This behavior has not been seen on VDAs hosted on Intel-based hypervisors

Resolution

Resolution: Upgrade your VDA to 7.11 or upgrade your AMD processor to AMD Bobcat, Bulldozer or Piledriver.

Problem Cause

The issue resides in the binary instruction set created for Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSSE3). The pshufb instruction was added in XenDesktop 7.8 for the twencode logic to take advantage of the new instruction set.
