Description

The affected VPX is part of an HA pair and is in standby mode. VPX VM state is “Running”; instance state is “Out of service”.

The VPX instance has a different Admin Profile from the others on this NetScaler SDX, but when we try to change Admin Profile we get the error “Failed to add/set system user”.

Resolution

Out of service due to auth error.

  1. Check if SVM has the updated credentials so that it can login to the VPX.
  2. Revert custom password on the VPX.
  3. Set system user nsroot nsroot.
  4. Then bind ns_admin profile to VPX on SVM.
  5. Once the status is up, change the admin profile to the custom admin profile as per the requirement.
Note: Please check the instance communication (System-->Change System Settings). If the NetScaler communication is on HTTP and if only secure access is enable it will still show as "Yellow" color.
