Description
If the SID of the Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop Delivery Controller(s) is changed by Removing and Re-Joining it to the Active Directory Domain,
the environment would no longer be supported.
If the SID of Delivery Controller(s) is changed, you might encounter various issues with Citrix Studio, for instance: When you open Citrix Studio,
you might get "Re-enter Controller Address".
XenDesktop/XenApp Database holds the information of the Controller's domain SID and when you access Studio or run Citrix PS Commands,
that SID is validated and when you get a SID mismatch, you can get into unexpected errors.
To Validate the SID of the Controller in Database against the actual SID of Controller Machine:
- Connect to the SQL Server and expand 'tables' under the XenDesktop/XenApp Database instance.
- Check for the following tables, chb_Config.Controller and chb_State.Controller, which hold the SID of the controller.
- Download the PsGetSID tool on the Controller, using which you can find out the actual SID of the Controller.
- Compare both the SIDs, they should match.
If the SIDs does not match, then in case of Single Delivery Controller Environment, the only resolution is to re-create the Site.
In case you have one Active Controller in the Site, you can evict the Controller from the Site for which the SID has been changed
and then re-add the Controller to existing Site preferably with a new Hostname.
Note: Same resolution stands for the scenario where the Domain in the Company get changed.
