PVS 7.6 : Assistance with Imaging process

Resolution

P2PVS tool for imaging
1. Create a Vdisk in PVS console
2. Create device in the device collection using PVS console
3. Enter master image name and MAC address
4. Select boot from ‘Hard disk’
5. Assign the Vdisk that was created in #1
6. On the master image, select ‘network’ in boot order, uncheck hard disk and CD-ROM
7. Boot the mater Image
8. Verify the Vdisk status is active (Vdisk icon in the system tray)
9. Run the tool ‘P2PVS’ located at C:\Program Files\Citrix\Provisioning Services
10. Select ‘from this machine’ to ‘PVS Vdisk’ click next
11. Click on ‘Optimize’
12. Click on ‘Convert’
13. After conversion is completed, click on Finish
14. Change the ‘boot from’ option for the device in PVS console from ‘Hard Disk’ to ‘Vdisk’
15. Boot the master image (vdisk in private mode)
16. Change the Vdisk to ‘standard mode’
17. Boot the master image (vdisk in standard mode)
18. Shut down the master image
19. ‘Detach’ Hard dive (do not delete as it may be helpful while Imaging in future)
20. Convert mater image into template
21. Use this template in XenDesktop Setup Wizard to create machines
