Description

Studio has a warning to upgrade remaining Delivery Controllers and points to the standalone license server that is not (and never has been) a controller.

Studio Warning

Resolution

1.Close Studio.
2.Run the following commands in PowerShell on the DDC:
  • Get-ConfigRegisteredServiceInstance -ServiceType Lic
  • If the above command returns a service then run the following command: Get-ConfigRegisteredServiceInstance -ServiceType Lic | Unregister ConfigRegisteredServiceInstance
  • Restart-Service Citrix* -verbose
3.If the above steps doesn't not resolve the issue, capture a CDF trace simultaneously on all the controllers in the site and provide it to Citrix Support.

Problem Cause

The XenDesktop license service still registered is not necessary for XenDesktop 7.6. It was our old approach to communicating with the license server. The service doesn't exist any more but is still registered in the config service.

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading to XenDesktop 7.6, Studio is showing there are more delivery controllers to upgrade even when all servers were upgraded successfully.
