SDX Clean Install Feature Operation
Clean-Install Feature allows user to install an arbitrary version of Single Bundle on SDX appliance.
The clean-install operation performs a fresh install of Single Bundle Image (SBI) as the new default boot image. This operation can be used for upgrade or downgrade. However existing configuration is not preserved during clean-install
Clean-Install operation requires and will only work when both these conditions are satisfied
- SBI 11.0.xx, SBI 11.1.xx or SVM 10.5.62.9+ or later.
- Appliances that are shipped from factory with NS10.5.60.7 or later.
The clean install features requires larger factory partition size on the local boot software disk. The newer shipping factory software ADC 10.5.60.7 now incorporates a larger factory partition on the supplied disk to accommodate this operation.
Single Bundle Image (SBI) consists of:
- SDX Platform Image
- SDX Platform image consists of XenServer, and its various components ( Hot fixes, Supplemental pack)
- Service Management (SVM)
As a part of clean install operation ADC XVA is not updated, it will continue to remain same. If desired, it should be updated to the matching SBI release from the Citrix download page. The clean install operation does not impact factory bits. The factory shipping software is always preserved. A factory reset operation will always restore the system back to factory shipping software release.
