XenServer 6.5 - VM IP configuration switches back to DHCP
Resolution
>> On XenCenter selected the VM and navigated to Networking tab and remove and add the Virtual NICs.
>> Navigate to Device Manager and Disable and Enable XenServer PV Network drivers.
>> Assigned Static IPaddress and rebooted the VM, post reboot we verified the IP configuration it was still showing static IP.
Problem Cause
VMs revert their IP configuration to DHCP even after setting them to Static
Issue/Introduction
Guests running WIN 2012 DataCenter, WIN 2012 R2 DataCenter, WIN 2012 Standard
We encountered an issue with above mentioned guests where the IPv4 configuration was set to static but it was changing the configuration back to DHCP automatically
