Description

User launches published desktop via Storefront and can see the DesktopViewer. Desktop Viewer closes after a few seconds and logs the following error in the EventLog: Event ID: 1050 Citrix Desktop service connection validation failed on domain "for user" for reason "Deny" followed by Event ID7: "ICA Connection request denied because the current user, username is not the owner of the Session, sessionname."

Resolution

Session launch can be slow on the VDA due to profile management or other environmental reasons. Because of this the initial session may be slow to setup. Users do not understand the inner workings of the systems and attempt to quickly launch the same resource or another resource. If session sharing is being used the second attempt will be denied as expected and an event will be logged into Event Viewer.

User education and training is recommended to not create multiple successive resource launches to the same resource or same server. Another solution would be to disable session sharing however this will have a higher licence usage.

Problem Cause

The cause of the issue is the attempt to launch the application (from same client and user) before the first application launch is complete and ready for session sharing and is therefore denied. A warning message is posted to the event log for informational purposes. This is as designed.

Issue/Introduction

Details: ICA Connection request denied because the current user, username is not the owner of the Session, sessionname.
