Description

Using Provisioning Services (PVS) XenDesktop or Streamed VM Wizard, users were unable to change the Boot Order of newly created target devices.

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

To fix this,Create the following Registry key on all the PVS Servers:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\ProvisioningServices 
Name: UseTemplateBootOrder 
Type: DWORD 
Value: 1 


Problem Cause

The XenDesktop Setup wizard or Streamed VM Setup Wizard always resets the boot order when creating target devices from the template.
