Unable to upgrade XenDesktop/XenApp database; the following error is received:
Inner Exception:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException The statistics 'CustomStat_Value' is dependent on column 'Value'.
ALTER TABLE ALTER COLUMN Value failed because one or more objects access this column

To resolve this issue, remove custom statistics from XenDesktop/XenApp database.

Problem Cause

A maintenance and monitoring software was added to the database which added the CustomStat_Value statistic entries. This created locks on certain tables.
