XenDesktop Setup Wizard fails to create new devices at the end of the wizard's process. Wizard has no issues connecting to VMWare VShere but fails to create VMs with error:

CDF_NET_ERROR,"XdSetupFinish: Clone for device XXXXX-003 exception: System.Exception: [vmwware-wsnaprvmvc01] Duplicate template name (__STD TEMPLATE 76). ---> Citrix.Xip.XipException: Duplicate template name (__STD TEMPLATE 76)

Delete the stale template __STD TEMPLATE 76 from the VMware host and then run the setup wizard.

Problem Cause

The XenDesktop Setup wizard creates a new template each time when we add machines. The template that is created usually has a name starting with " __ " followed by the name of the actual template. In our scenario, the template was already present on the host, as a result the Stream Service was throwing an exception that there is already a duplicate template with the same name present on the host and it exits the wizard.
