Description
Poor or sluggish performance over ICA traffic after the implementation of Riverbed QOS.
- Applications slow to respond to user input.
- Moving or Resizing applications may be sluggish.
- Slow performance seen in all applications.
- Using a riverbed device for QOS on ICA traffic.
- Disabling ICA virtual channels does not improve performance.
- RDP performance is fine.
- Disabling the riverbed device or removing ICA from its QOS configuration returns ICA performance to normal.
Resolution
The riverbed QOS configuration for ICA traffic is not configured for optimal performance.
riverbed has numerous devices and versions some of the more popular being SteelHead CX\DX\EX
riverbed has documentation that needs to be followed if using the device to provide QOS for ICA or RDP traffic.
If disabling the riverbed device or removing ICA from its QOS configuration corrects the issue please refer to riverbeds documentation or contact them directly for help with the configuration.
NOTE: If you are using XenApp 6.5\7.x or XenDesktop 5.5\6.x\7.x it is recommended to use our QOS feature on ICA or HDX traffic.
