Description
Creation of a machine catalog from a snapshot can fail with the following error message:
"Image Preparation Office Rearm Count Exceeded".
Resolution
Citrix is working with Microsoft to address this issue.
The current workaround is to rename OSPPREARM.exe present under the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform to OSPPREARM.old and then create a catalog.
Problem Cause
This problem can occur if the image has Access Runtime 2010 installed.
Access RT 2010 installs an OSPPREARM.exe in the following location:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform”.
However, the rearm action will fail as Access Runtime 2010 is a free download and does not require activation. This failure results in the MCS catalog creation failure.
