Description

In case of failure during AppDisks creation or delivery, AppDisks Diagnostic Tool can be used to collect the relevant logs and metadata files that can be provided to the Citrix Technical Support team. AppDisks Diagnostic Tool collects the known log files, metadata files and Windows logs from the known location where AppDisks service and driver creates these files.

Prerequisites

AppDisks service should be installed on the system.

Installing AppDisks Diagnostic Tool

AppDisks Diagnotic Tool is installed as a part of AppDisks installation which is always installed as a part of XenDesktop Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) install.

How to Use AppDisks Diagnostic Tool

To run the tool, double-click the CtxAppDisksDiag.exe located at C:\Program Files\Citrix\personal vDisk\bin. Select all the relevant options and click OK. It will collect all the logs and create a zip file AppDisksDiag_xxxxxxxx.zip on the user’s Desktop.

Data Modified by AppDisks Diagnostic Tool

It creates a zip file on the user’s desktop with all the collected logs, and changes nothing else on the system.

How to Undo the Changes Made by AppDisks Diagnostic Tool

The tool doesn’t make any changes to the file system or registry. It just creates a zip file on the user’s desktop. To undo changes, delete the zip file.

Uninstalling AppDisks Diagnostic Tool

You can’t uninstall the tool without uninstalling the AppDisks product.

Known Issues

  • CtxAppDisksDiag logs does not show the logs when the layer creation is in progress.
