Description

Some PDF files don't display correctly in Acrobat Reader DC. Parts of the content are not being displayed at all or slightly misplaced, overlapping other images.

1. The issue happens with seamless published
2. The issue happens with desktop session when in windowed mode AND maximized
3. In both cases the issue only happens when in Adobe Reader the view mode is set to “Fit one full page to window”
4. The issue doesn’t happen when the desktop session is in full screen mode
5. The issue doesn’t happen when the desktop session is in windowed mode and NOT maximized.
6. The issue doesn't happen if Legacy Graphics Mode is off.
7.- Disabling hardware rendering in Adobe Reader improves the performance but doesn't solve the issue
8.- Disabling Graphic Acceleration doesn't solve the issue

Resolution

Disable image caching policy on my server (it is on by default).
Follow the instructions below to change the settings using local policy (gpedit.msc) or with a GPO.

  1. Navigate through the tree to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > then either Windows Explorer (Windows Vista/7) or File Explorer (Windows 8).
  2. In the right-hand pane, double-click “Turn off the caching of thumbnails in hidden thumbs.db files”
  3. Select Enabled
