Description

The following error is displayed when launching app through Secure Gateway:
SSL Error 61: "The server denied access to STA xxxxxx on port 1494"

Resolution

Complete the following steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Run the Secure Gateway configuration wizard and install a new certificate.
  2. Remove the binding on IIS and leave port 443 open for the Secure Gateway service.
Note: The SHA 256 certificates does not work with Web Interface. The SHA 256 certificates can be installed for the Secure Gateway service and latest 4.x receivers can launch apps with SHA 256 certificates.

Problem Cause

The site was configured as gateway direct however the installing the certificate on IIS directs the HTTPS traffic directly to the Web interface instead of the Secure Gateway.

Issue/Introduction

The following error is displayed when launching app through Secure Gateway: SSL Error 61: "The server denied access to STA xxxxxx on port 1494"
