Description

Install Office 2010 / 2013 into Master Image for XenDesktop. Then, during the Machine Catalog update, the following error is displayed:
"Office Licensing Rearm failed."

Resolution

Complete the following steps to resolve this issue.

  1. Prep the master image with all the Office components installed on the base image.

  2. Rename the following files to .old on the master image (all locations may not exist):
    "%CommonProgramFiles%\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\OSPPREARM.EXE"
    "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office15\OSPPREARM.EXE"
    "%CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\microsoft shared\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform\OSPPREARM.EXE"
    "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office15\OSPPREARM.EXE"

  3. Update the PvD inventory (if using Personal Vdisk).

  4. Update the catalog.
