After rebuilding the XenApp licensing server users are unable to connect.
XenApp Licensing installed without issue and its services are running.
Running qfarm /load on any of the XenApp servers in the farm shows a load of 20000 meaning the servers are unable to acquire a connection license for the user.
The user may see the following error when trying to connect:
“Citrix XenApp license acquisition error (-25): Unable to acquire a license from (<server name>) server. Please contact your system administrator or open Event Viewer for more details.”
They only change in the environment was the XenApp Licensing server has been rebuilt and renamed.
There can be two solutions to this issue.
1. Rename the rebuilt server exactly the way it was named before (The case must match also not just the name). This is caused by renaming the XenApp Licensing server during rebuild.
License files run only on the license server or hardware appliance that was specified when they were generated.
The binding identifier is the information in the license file that identifies the machine where the license file is hosted. The binding identifier is usually the license server hostname, but it can also be a hardware appliance name, Ethernet address (MAC address), or FQDN.
