Additional Lifecycle Information for Citrix Profile Management

This article is a supplement to the Non-Sale Products Lifecycle information.
Profile Management is versioned independently from the versions of XenApp and XenDesktop that it supports.
Note: Since Profile Management 7.15, the next version after Profile Management 5.8, Profile Management has aligned its version with each release of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. For example, Profile Management 7.15 was released with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7.15.
Support for Profile Management will be provided for XenApp or XenDesktop in accordance with these Lifecycle Milestone Definitions, the dates that are defined in the Product Matrix Table, and the documented system requirements for XenDesktop, XenApp, and Profile Management.
Profile Management has been packaged in the installers for XenApp/XenDesktop beginning with v7.0 release. Prior to that release, Profile Management has always been released separately and as an independent installer. Note that the latest versions of Profile Management are always supported on all XenApp or XenDesktop versions that are currently available. Profile Management does have minimum requirements specific to the Operating System that are outlined in the Product Documentation’s System Requirements.
The following table identifies versions of Profile Management by version of XenApp or XenDesktop. For example, if you continue to use XenApp 7.6 through its End of Life, Citrix will provide support for Profile Management 5.2 and later.

Note: Profile Management 4.1* is the only version supporting Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Operating Systems. The end of support for Profile Management 4.1 will coincide with Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Operating Systems by Microsoft.
Extended Support for Profile Management is only offered through the purchase of Extended Support for XenApp or XenDesktop
To ensure best performance and security, Citrix recommends installing the latest updates within a few months of their availability.

Q: How do I find the version of Citrix Profile Management?
A: If Profile Management is explicitly installed, the version of the component will be displayed in the “Program and Features” Applet in Control Panel listed as “Citrix Profile Management”.
Ensure to include the version column in the Control Panel view.
If Profile Management is installed as a part of any product installation (for example, XenApp/XenDeskto) then go to %ProgramFiles%\Citrix\User Profile Manager\UserProfileManager.exe – Right click to open Properties of exe to find the product version.
