Description

The target device fails to start when vDisk is not replicated across all the servers. The target device freezes at "connecting to provisioning services".

Environment

Caution! Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that might require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk. Be sure to back up the registry before you edit it.

Resolution

To resolve this issue make sure the vDisk files are correctly replicated across the PVS Servers.

The following workaround can be used until the vDisk files are correctly replicated.

Caution! The following Workaround is not meant as a permanent fix to the issue. Use the Workaround only to stabilize the environment while the vDisk files are correctly replicated.

  • Set the registry key SkipRIMS available at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Citrix\ProvisioningServices\StreamProcess to "1".


Problem Cause

This issue might occur if the vDisk files are not replicated correctly across the PVS Servers.
