Important Note(s)

  • This release is based on Version 7.1/7.5 of the VDA Core Services for Windows Desktop (32-bit). It patches only systems where Version 7.1/7.5 of the VDA Core Services for Windows Desktop (32-bit) is installed. Any known issues in Version 7.1/7.5 of the product, except for the specific issues resolved in this limited release, still apply.
  • You can upgrade the VDA from a console session or from an RDP session. Upgrading from within an ICA session is not supported.
  • Caution! This release may require you to edit the registry. Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Citrix cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

Where to Find Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, including supported operating systems and system requirements, see Citrix Product Documentation.

New Fixes in This Release

  1. When users log off from XenDesktop, in XenCenter or the vSphere console, the user desktop session appears for several seconds.

    [From ICAWS750WX86029][#LC1782]

  2. Users cannot change the Lync status in the console session if any Hotfixes contain Fix #LA5736 or if any of the following Hotfixes are present on the VDA:

    • ICAWS750WX86007
    • ICAWS750WX86008
    • ICAWS750WX86012
    • ICAWS750WX86028
    • XD710ICAWSWX86003

The Lync status always shows as "Away."

    [From ICAWS750WX86029][#LC2479]

Fixes from Replaced Hotfixes

  1. Attempts to open Microsoft Office files in a virtual desktop session might take a longer time to open. Additionally, when a published application is started and then minimized, it can no longer be restored or maximized from the taskbar.

    [From ICAWS750WX86007][#LA5342]

  2. In sessions on VDAs with Fix #LA5736 (XD710ICAWSWX86003) installed, the mouse pointer might not honor the boundaries of the desktop.

    [From ICAWS750WX86007][#LC0145]

  3. In Remote PC Access configurations, pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del or a UAC prompt can cause the client screen to go black. You can continue to interact with screen elements, such as buttons, but they are not visible.

    [From ICAWS750WX86008][#LA5581]

  4. The visual effects setting "Show shadows under mouse pointer" might change to "Show window contents while dragging" when disconnecting from and reconnecting to a VDA.

With this fix, these settings do not change when users reconnect to a session.

    [From ICAWS750WX86008][#LA5861]

  5. The XenDesktop VDA screen does not respond after being in an idle state for an extended period of time when using Remote PC Access.

    [From ICAWS750WX86008][#LC0228]

  6. In sessions on VDAs with Fix #LA5736 (XD710ICAWSWX86003) installed, the mouse pointer might not honor the boundaries of the desktop.

    [From ICAWS750WX86008][#LC0384]

  7. Attempts to shut down or restart a VDA from an endpoint with Desktop Lock enabled causes the endpoint to log off instead of shutting down or restarting.

    [From ICAWS750WX86009][#LA5526]

  8. When using Remote PC Access, client printer redirection might fail to work and printing to a network printer fails.

    [From ICAWS750WX86009][#LC0250]

  9. When starting a VDA session in a multi-monitor environment, the VDA experiences an error and a blue screen appears with bugcheck code 0x0000007f.

    [From ICAWS750WX86012][#LC0223]

  10. This fix addresses the following issues:

    • Installing any VDA hotfix that was released before ICAWS750WX86012 causes the following registry keys to revert to the default values. These are registry keys you may have customized for a variety of reasons:

      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\vd3d\Compatibility
        Name: *
        Type: REG_DWORD
        Data: <variable>
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\vbdenum
        Name: Group
        Type: REG_SZ
        Data: <variable>
      • Name: Start
        Type: REG_DWORD
        Data: <variable>
    • Installing any VDA hotfix that was released before ICAWS750WX86012 reverts the state of the Citrix Remote Multi-Touch Device and Citrix Multi-Touch Redirection Services to the defaults, regardless of whether you manually enabled or disabled them previously.

This fix does not reinstate the custom registry values nor the custom states of the services. It does prevent hotfixes you install after Hotfix ICAWS750WX86012 from reverting the above registry values and any custom states of the two services.

    [From ICAWS750WX86013][#LC0782]

  11. The redirected COM port device does not work in a Receiver session.

    [From ICAWS750WX86016][#LC0851]

  12. Users cannot change the Lync status in the console session if any Hotfixes contain Fix #LA5736 or if any of the following Hotfixes are present on the VDA:

    • ICAWS750WX86007
    • ICAWS750WX86008
    • ICAWS750WX86012
    • XD710ICAWSWX86003

The Lync status always shows as "Away."

Important: After applying this hotfix, if NetScaler Gateway is part of the deployment, the Lync status continues to show as "Away" when users disconnect from the VDA session and then connect to a console session.

    [From ICAWS750WX86028][#LC1691]

  13. This release fixes redundant frames generated by the HDX graphics encoder, resulting in a smoother frame-rate and better interactivity.

    [From ICAWS750WX86028][#LC2177]

  14. This enhancement provides better performance when running VDAs on hosts with AMD or Intel graphics (for example, physical PC, pass-through GPU, or vGPU).

    [From XD710ICAWSWX86002][#LA5300]

  15. Mouse pointer movements are not visible in the Lync conversation window if you share your virtual desktop.

    [From XD710ICAWSWX86003][#LA4942]

  16. After a virtual desktop session reconnects, the VDI log on dialog box does not appear and Lync in the virtual environment is no longer paired with the Lync VDI plug-in.

    [From XD710ICAWSWX86003][#LA5736]

  17. This fix addresses a security vulnerability. For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX139591.

    [From XD710ICAWSWX86005][#LA4447]

  18. COM port redirection can fail after upgrading Version 5.1 of VDI-in-a-Box to Version 5.3.

    [From XD710ICAWSWX86005][#LA5252]

  19. This fix addresses a security vulnerability. For more information, see Knowledge Center article CTX139591.
