This article details how to deploy Secure Mail Test Tool and also covers some of the frequently asked question about this tool.
Complete the following steps to deploy Secure Mail Test Tool:
Launch Secure Mail Test Tool. You will get the following screen:
Add servers to the SERVERS list. In case it is a cluster setup, add all the servers including load balancing server details.
Tap on Add new server text field present under the SERVERS to add the server. You will get the following screen:
Input type can be:
Enter the server and tap Next in case you want to add more server or tap Dismiss to move to the next step.
Enter the CREDENTIALS. The following are the inputs which needs to be provided:
Tap on User name to provide username as input. Provide the username and tap Next.
Tap on Domain to provide domain as input. Provide the domain and tap Next.
Tap on Password to provide password as input. Provide the password and tap Next.
You can select to Accept All Certificates if you wish to do so.
By default, the client OS will be set to Auto Detect.
In this case, the app will look as shown in the following screenshot:
You can also choose Custom settings and then select the device type and device OS version from the list provided.
In case you do not get the device detail which you are looking for then you can add the same.
The following are the steps for selecting the device:
Select the client OS.
In this example we are using Android OS in the screenshots. Same steps can be followed for iOS as well.
Select Device Type.
In this example we are using the device listed here. Select a device, or you can also add the device type by tapping on the + sign present at top-right corner:
Similarly, Go back to select device OS version by tapping < sign present at top-left corner. Tap on device OS Version. In case you do not find the OS version which you need, add it using + sign present at top-right corner.
You can go back to main screen by tapping < twice. Now the main screen will look as follows:
In case you want to simulate the test for more number of times, use Repeat Count.
Tap on Repeat Count and it will take you to the next screen where you can select the repeat count. Minimum repeat count is “1”.
To run the test, tap on Diagnose option available at top-right corner.
Once the test is complete, the list of servers will be displayed. You can tap on any server to view the diagnostic report for that server.
Tapping on any of the listed servers will display complete result will contain the following data:
Server: Server for which test was executed
Username: Username of user for which test has been executed
Validation: Success or Failure
Performed steps: Steps which has been performed
In case of successful validation, result will be shown as follows:

To send mail from ActiveSync test application, tap on Send Report present at bottom of the screen:
To reset the test, Tap on Reset as shown in the following screenshot:
When you tap on “Reset”, following actions will be performed:
To Delete the added server, swipe left on the server name, you will get below screen, tap on Delete.
In case you are using wrapped app, ensure that Network access is set to Unrestricted or Tunneled to the internal network and Block Email Compose is set to OFF.
