Where to Find Documentation

This document describes the issue(s) resolved by this release and includes installation instructions. For additional product information, see Citrix Product Documentation.

New Fixes in This Release

  1. Browsing certain Web sites with HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection enabled can cause the PseudoContainer2.exe process to exit unexpectedly.

To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key on the server:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer
    Name: SupportedUrlHeads
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ
Data: <each value on a separate line, null separated:>
    http://
    https://
    file://

Note: To provide a better browsing experience with HDX Flash, Citrix recommends that you also install Receiver Fix #LA5255 (Citrix Receiver for Windows 3.4 Cumulative Update 3 or its replacement) on the endpoint.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64008][#LA4151]

  2. If HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection is enabled, opening and closing multiple tabs in Internet Explorer with Flash content can cause Internet Explorer to exit unexpectedly.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64008][#LC0375]

  3. When using Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and later versions of the browser, if you click a link to a Flash redirected video while another Flash redirected video is already playing, the audio streams of the two videos overlap.

This fix does not eliminate the issue, but setting the following registry key on the server allows you to shorten the amount of time during which it occurs:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer
    Name: UrlListForTerminationFlashInst
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ
Data: <URLs of affected websites; include both http:// and https://, each on a separate line; for example: http://www.youtube.com/; https://www.youtube.com/>

    [From HDXFlash200WX64008][#LC0453]

  4. When using Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 or later, Flash redirection can fail for videos embedded in websites. A black rectangle appears in place of the video.

To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer
    Name: WorkWithAeroEnabled
    Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0

    [From HDXFlash200WX64008][#LC0477]

  5. After using YouTube's built-in Search field In Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 and later versions of the browser, HDX Flash Redirection reverts to server-side rendering.

To enable this fix, you must set the following registry key on the server:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer
    Name: SupportedUrlHeads
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ
Data: <each value on a separate line, null separated>
    http://
    https://
    file://

Note: SupportedUrlHeads was first introduced in Fix #LA4151. It is also used by this fix. If you add SupportedUrlHeads to the Registry, Flash Redirection ignores a Flash instantiation request unless the targeted URL starts with one of the headers specified in SupportedUrlHeads.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64008][#LC0505]

  6. Flash redirection fails for videos embedded on cnn.com and msn.com. A black rectangle appears in place of the video.

In order to enable this fix, you must set the following registry keys:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\HdxMediaStreamForFlash\Server\PseudoServer\ASJSCallbacks

    For cnn.com:

    Name: cnn.com
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ

    Data: javaScriptLoaded
     setQueueAutoplay
    setAdVisibility
    setPlayerMode
    setAdSection
    setAdKeyValue
    playContent
    getContentEntry
    switchTrackingContext

    For msn.com:

    Name: msn.com
    Type: REG_MULTI_SZ

    Data: MsnVideoCallback
     MsnVideoPropertyCallback
     GetWidgetID

Note: This fix works only for Internet Explorer 9 and later.

Fixes from Replaced Hotfixes

  1. At times of heavy logon/logoff activity, one or more of the following can be observed:

    • Applications can exit unexpectedly.
    • During logon attempts, an Error 1030 appears on the endpoint.
    • During logoff attempts, the Virtual Desktop Agent returns to the Logon screen and the endpoint continues to display the Desktop Viewer.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64001][#LA0388]

  2. Accessing certain Web sites with Internet Explorer and HDX MediaStream for Flash enabled can cause the Web page to become unresponsive, displaying only a cyan background.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64001][#LA0645]

  3. Server-side content fetching can exhibit poor performance in restrictive WAN conditions due to the lack of flow control in the Flash Virtual Channel. This fix corrects the flow control for the Flash Virtual Channel and provides smooth playback of Flash objects. For information about configuring server-side content fetching, see http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/topic/xendesktop-als/hd-flash-configure-server-ad.html.

To enable this fix in its entirety, you must install both a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA0686 and:

    • For XenApp: an HDX Flash hotfix that contains Fix #LA0686
    • For XenDesktop: a Virtual Desktop Agent hotfix that contains Fix #LA0686

    [From HDXFlash200WX64001][#LA0686]

  4. With server-side content fetching enabled, Flash content can take unexpectedly long (up to six minutes) to start rendering in the session.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64001][#LA1149]

  5. With HDX Mediastream for Flash enabled, opening and closing multiple tabs in Internet Explorer with Flash content can cause Internet Explorer to become unresponsive.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64001][#LA1216]

  6. HDX MediaStream Flash redirection does not work for any site when the "Flash URL compatibility list" policy is enabled and a site is added to the list - regardless whether it specified to render on the server, on the client, or to be blocked.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64002][#LA1077]

  7. With HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection enabled, Web sites with Flash content can experience delays of up to 10 seconds to load.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64003][#LA1962]

  8. Microsoft Internet Explorer might exit unexpectedly, referencing pseudoserverinproc2.dll, with certain types of Flash content on Web pages.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64003][#LA1979]

  9. With Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 11.3 installed on the endpoint device, Flash content cannot be redirected to be rendered on the client; instead, the content is rendered on the server.

To enable this fix in its entirety, you must install both a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA2283 and:

    • For XenApp: an HDX Flash hotfix that contains Fix #LA2283
    • For XenDesktop: a Virtual Desktop Agent hotfix that contains Fix #LA2283

    [From HDXFlash200WX64003][#LA2283]

  10. With Adobe Flash Player ActiveX 11.4 installed on the endpoint device, Flash content cannot be redirected to be rendered on the client; instead, the content is rendered on the server.

To enable this fix in its entirety, you must install both a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA2565 and:

    • For XenApp: an HDX Flash hotfix that contains Fix #LA2565
    • For XenDesktop: a Virtual Desktop Agent hotfix that contains Fix #LA2565

    [From HDXFlash200WX64003][#LA2565]

  11. The HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection feature might fail to work. The issue occurs when the short path expansion is disabled on the server, which prevents hdxflashhook.dll from loading pseudoserverInprocloader.dll.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64004][#LA2945]

  12. In scenarios where the Enable server-side content fetching policy is enabled on the server and the Flash server-side content fetching URL list setting is configured for the Flash Redirection policy on the client, attempts to play Flash content fail if the URL to the content contains multibyte/unicode characters such as those common in Asian languages

To enable this fix in its entirety, you must install both a client hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621 and:

    • For XenApp: an HDX Flash hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621
    • For XenDesktop: a Virtual Desktop Agent hotfix that contains Fix #LA1621

Note: This fix also requires the corresponding language code pages to be installed on both the client and the server. The code pages are installed by default by the Windows operating system. For example, the Japanese distribution of Windows 7 installs the Japanese code pages by default. However, if you are using a URL with Japanese characters on an English distribution of Windows 7, the Japanese code pages must be installed explicitly. This applies to both the client and the server because the URLs are transferred from the client to the server when server-side content fetching is enabled.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64005][#LA1621]

  13. Microsoft Internet Explorer might exit unexpectedly, referencing pseudoserverinproc2.dll, with certain types of Flash content on Web pages.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64005][#LA2151]

  14. This fix improves load times of Flash videos when HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection is enabled.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64006][#LA3232]

  15. After installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player and attempting to play Flash videos, Internet Explorer might incorrectly display the following error message even if the correct version is installed:

"You need Adobe Flash Player to watch this video."

    [From HDXFlash200WX64006][#LA3475]

  16. With HDX Mediastream for Flash enabled, opening and closing multiple tabs in Internet Explorer with Flash content can cause Internet Explorer to exit unexpectedly.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64007][#LA3065]

  17. The Windows Event Log Service can exit unexpectedly. The issue occurs when the Flash Redirection feature attempts to acquire a message using English Language ID: 0x409 (1033) for Japanese HDXFlashEventMessages.dll.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64007][#LA4679]

  18. On systems with Hotfix HDXFlash200WX64005 installed, Microsoft Internet Explorer might exit unexpectedly, referencing pseudoserverinproc2.dll, when using the HDX MediaStream Flash Redirection feature.

    [From HDXFlash200WX64007][#LA4742]

  19. Microsoft Internet Explorer might exit unexpectedly, referencing pseudoserverinproc2.dll, if Adobe Flash Player 11.8.800.168 or later is installed.
