When using Citrix Machine Creation Services to provision a machine catalog on either Citrix CloudPlatform or Amazon Web Services (AWS), using more than one guest network, you observe the following error:-
“A volume service instance could not be launched in your cloud connection. In Studio, select Hosting in the left pane and then select the cloud connection. Click Test Connection in the Actions pane. The test results should provide additional information.”
It is valid to use guest networks that cannot be routed to the delivery controller. However, when selecting multiple networks, it is important that the first network in the list is a network on which the delivery controller can communicate with the provisioned machines. While progressing through the catalog creation wizard in Studio, and choosing networks on the network selection page, ensure that the network at the top of the list is a network that can successfully route between the delivery controller and the provisioned machines. Networks that do not allow this communication must be moved further down the list.
There are several possible causes of this error. However, in the specific case where more than one guest network has been selected for the catalog, the error can occur if one or more of the selected networks cannot be routed to the delivery controller.
