This article contains information about migrating an existing catalog to a new Hypervisor.

Background

In XenDesktop, once a catalog has been created in the studio console, critical parts of XenDesktop data model such as the identity and unique identifiers of the Hypervisors datacenters, clusters, storage, networks, and so on are created in the database.

More Information

As of now, there is no tool or supported mechanism to redirect these identifiers to the new hypervisor. For example, once a storage is added in XenDesktop studio console, the identity and unique identifiers of the VMware data centers, clusters, storage, networks, and so on get updated in the database and cannot be changed.

Note: If any changes are made to the storage from vCenter, then you must recreate the catalog infrastructure and start from the beginning.
