Performance of Office 2013 visual features are degraded after installing Office 2013 on a machine with the XenDesktop Virtual Delivery Agent software WDDM video driver.

Example: After upgrading to Virtual Delivery Agent (VDA) 7, Excel freezes or becomes unresponsive when the user scrolls through large spreadsheet files.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must disable hardware acceleration in Office.

Following is the procedure to complete the task:

  1. Start any Office 2013 program.

  2. On the File tab, click Options.

  3. In the Options dialog box, click Advanced.

  4. In the list of available options, select Disable hardware graphics acceleration.

  5. Click OK.


Problem Cause

A video configuration on the computer is incompatible with the Office 2013 feature set responsible for displaying the animations in an application.
