This article provides information on how to setup the configuration logging database to use a port other than the default port of SQL.

Requirements

  • XenApp 6.0 or 6.5

  • Windows 2008 R2

  • SQL 2005 SP4

Background

When setting up the configuration logging database, the default SQL port 1433 is automatically considered for the database.


Instructions

To configure a port for the logging database in XenApp 6.5, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Citrix AppCenter console.

  2. Right click on your Farm Name in the XenApp node and select Farm Properties.
    The configuration logging feature option is displayed.

  3. Setup an empty SQL database and it cannot be the same as your XenApp farm database.

  4. Click the Configuration Logging node > Configure database.

  5. Select the connection type as SQL.

  6. Specify the server name by either selecting from the drop down box or manually specifying in your SQL server name that host the new blank database.

  7. Add a comma, a space, and the port number after the server name as shown in the following screen shot:

  8. Select an Authentication node and then click Next.

  9. Specify the SQL database by either selecting from the drop down or manually specify in the Specify the Database screen.

  10. Complete the reset of the Configuration Logging wizard and ensure the Test Database Connection is successful and then click Finish.
