This article explains how to create a designated Update Virtual Machine (VM) and add a host connection to the Hosts node.

Complete the following steps to create a designated Update Virtual Machine and add a host connection to Hosts node.
Create a diskless VM on a hypervisor. For example, AutoUpdateVM.
Because this VM will attach to the production vDisk, configure this to start from the network only. Later, you will notice an Active Directory machine account created with the same name as the VM you created.
In the Provisioning Services Console, right-click the Hosts node as shown in the following screenshot and select Add host.
Select the appropriate hypervisor type. Click Next.
