Description
The USB redirection policy Client USB Device Redirection Rules does not apply to XenApp published applications.
Resolution
If this feature is desired, to allow for more granular control of USB devices use one of the following:
- XenDesktop 5.0 or later version
OR
- VM hosted Apps for XenDesktop 5.0 or later
Problem Cause
The USB Client USB Device Redirection Rules is only for XenDesktop 5.x or XenDesktop 5.x VM hosted apps published in XenApp 6.0 or higher.Issue/Introduction

With XenApp, you can only either disable or enable USB devices, you cannot use the redirection rules policy to turn off specific devices as XenApp does not offer the advanced redirection rules that XenDesktop or virtual machine hosted apps for XenDesktop can provide (XenDesktop actually has a USB service to handle USB requests which XenApp does not have) the important differences in the features is outlined in CTX124956 - Difference with USB Support Between XenApp and XenDesktop.
