This article describes the supported and unsupported methods of enabling and disabling interfaces in SDX.

SDX Interface Management

It is possible to enable and disable physical interfaces from XenServer in SDX. However, this is not supported and can result in unusual conditions that might be present as layer 1 or layer 2 issues.

This can result with the status displaying “Incomplete Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)” either on NetScaler or on the switch. Refer the following screen shot:

Restarting the SDX resolves the issue with the physical interface. Always use the Service Virtual Machine (SVM) GUI or the NetScaler VPX to enable or disable interfaces.
